Work is expected to be carried out along Plough Road, Great Bentley in the vicinity of the School to the Village Hall and as far south as the open field on the right hand side. The work will commence on 19th August and is expected to last for 3 weeks.
From week commencing 26th August, due to close proximity with the level crossing these works will have to be done under a road closure. It is hoped to reopen the road each day after works are finished if it’s safe to do so.
From week commencing 2nd September work south of the Village Hall car park will not require a road closure and will be carried out under Stop & Go boards.
Outline planning permission was refused for up to 136 dwellings on Land to the South of Weeley Road, Great Bentley. An appeal has been made to the Secretary of State

NOTIFICATION OF START OF WORKS – A120 Wix Bypass
I am writing to introduce GRAHAM as the principal contractor working on behalf of Highways England. We will soon be carrying out work along the A120 Wix Bypass, which includes carriageway, crack and gulley repairs and the replacement of road markings and studs.
Works will commence late September 2019 and are due to last approximately two weeks. We will continue to keep you informed of the work as it progresses and advise you of any changes to our programme or traffic management if required. A further letter with greater detail setting out our upcoming works and diversion routes in your vicinity will be delivered in advance of the scheme starting.
Whilst we appreciate that disruption on any scale is not ideal, we will be working between the hours of 8pm and 6am to help minimise this.
If you have any questions in relation to this letter, please feel free to contact us via the Highways England Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000, or by emailing [email protected]
