Parish Council complains about large scale housing development

At a recent meeting of Great Bentley Parish Council (GBPC) frustration was expressed by councillors about the seemingly unrestricted housing development in the Parish. It was agreed to write to Essex County Council (ECC), Tendring District Council (TDC) and Bernard Jenkin MP advising of the concern about vulnerability of Great Bentley to large scale housing development.

Police launch murder investigation in St Osyth

Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man in St Osyth. Police were called shortly before 4.45am Monday March 20, with reports a 23-year-old man had been stabbed in Rochford Road.

Officers carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the victim until the ambulance service arrived. He was taken to hospital, where he sadly died a short time later. Continue reading

Operation Scarlet

This week sees the launch by Essex Police of Operation Scarlet, a joint initiative between Clacton CID and the Local Policing Team. This initiative is designed to reduce the number of burglaries being committed in the area.

There will be an increase in the number of patrols conducted by local policing officers, PCSO’s and special constables. Police will target the area’s where the burglaries are being committed and will pro-actively target those individuals who may be responsible for these crimes.
